Here is world famous Perch Fisherman Jumbo Jim and our 10.62lb walleye from last weekend...

Notice the large gash in the fishes neck...terrible decision on my part...Should have mounted it

Fish took a ludington watermellon harness fished 150 back on 3.5. A real heavy hitter!

Thats my second fish used for the wco reports...lol

I was going to say, you probably can't mount that one.  Anyway, Nice Walleye!

I have mounted things that looked (and smelled) much worse than that, but it usually involved alcohol and large quantities of morning regret.

Some guy's like to "bleed them" nice fish should have mouted her,I personaly don't like to eat the huge ones, they have a ton of nasty red flesh on there side that has to get fillet off or they taste like garbage,I caught tons of eyes from 79 till early 92,I gave most of the large fish away, back then a small one was around three pounds, did it all wire line, then riggers, and boards and dipsey divers, all fish where taken on lures bill normans, bangos, long A's,killer B's, pirate spoons NK's,Sold the big boat don't miss it much but still go a couple of times a year with a buddy that has a big boat, last year I went and showed him some old tricks that still work.I caught tons of Eyes but never got one over 9lbs 12 oz.

I didnt keep the meat.  You fillet a big one trim all the red off and they are almost as good as those 3lb walleyes.  Bigger fillets people like for grillin.

Cut the throat to bleed em out.  Makes the fillets really white and clean...If your into eating your fish, probaly a practice you should get into.  Word of caution though...think twice before slicing a near 11lb walleye....you'll kick yourself for days...
