For anyone looking to book a great walleye trip on Lake Erie. I highly recommend Something Catchy Charters and Captain Brian Mills.

In February of this year, I booked a walleye trip out of Walnut Creek on Lake Erie for June 18th. I am originally from Franklin Pa. but currently living in New York City. All I had to go on was the website info and my gut feeling, and it turned out I made a great decision to book with Captain Brian. From the initial contact via the telephone, his attention to detail, follow-up calls, and genuine concern for us to enjoy ourselves, made the trip for myself, my uncle, brother, and nephew a fantastic and memorable one.

The boat was clean, well equipped and never seemed crowded, even with 4 fishermen, the captain, and the mate. The equipment was well maintained and of a good quality. We were asked from the beginning how much we would like to be involved in the rigging of the equipment. Captain Brian can cater to all skill levels of anglers enabling them to enjoy the charter on their level. This proved important to our charter as I have fished all over the country for all types of game fish and my nephew was limited in experience to bluegills on the pond and was eager to learn.

With the great customer service, attention to detail, and the genuine good nature of the captain this rates as one of the top charter fishing experiences I have ever booked (and I have booked many), but for the money it may be the best.

I plan to book with Captain Brian and Something Catchy Charters again soon, and for the most part wrote this to help others looking for a great charter experience to have more to go on than a gut feeling. If you would like to check out their website it is: www.somethingcatchycharters.com

Last but not least everyone on the boat limited out on fish and the smallest walleye kept was 25".

My only complaint is they haven't posted my pic's from the trip yet on the website.

I like that they have that last minute pick-up option if they don't have a full boat. Looks like a top-notch operation. Not many pictures of pig 'eyes though. Do they run smaller in Erie compared to Ontario?

Fished with them last year and really enjoyed myself as well.  I think it was Capt Brian, but not sure...if so, his wife was 1st mate.  They let you get very involved in the rigging and setting of lines.  The only complaint I had was that spoons were the only option. I guess they do not believe in meat.  I like starting with close to a 50/50 combination of spoons and harnesses and then adjust to what they are hitting.  I would go out with them again.
