I shot my 2nd buck archery buck last thursday nite with my Mathews FX. He wasn't the big one i'd been seeing but I surely wasn't going to pass him up. At 4:55 I still hadn't seen a deer but I saw turkeys so I started calling to them. Then at about 5:20 4 turkeys were closing in when I heard my buck coming. I never saw him coming up the right-of-way until he was 40 yards away. He came right to the scrape and pawed away at it, then stood on his hind legs to lick the licking branch. He took a few steps and stopped and... I missed.. I used my 30 pin for some reason when I knew he was 20. 5 minutes later he came right back, never leaving my sight. Luckily this time I didn't miss. Got out of the tree and found nothing but I knew he was hit good so I left him lay till the morning. Unfortunately I was on 11-7 shift and I had all nite to think about it. In the morning we walked to my spot and to my suprise he was laying on the right-of-way 80 yards from the point of impact. Hes a 5x2 and went almost 200 pounds. Shot him on public land too! Hopefully this pic works!
