Hi Everyone: I am new to the forum. I grew up on Lake Erie and spent a lot of time fishing as a kid. Always loved it but did not get the chance much to fish as an adult, although wanted to. I have always loved bass fishing because it is fun to catch them and they hit on so many different types of bait and lures. That makes it interesting and challenging. My husband is a great guy, but fishing is just not his gig!

Now that my son is older, I want to start taking him bass fishing. He is eight. Can you recommend some good locations to take him where we can fish from the shore and have a decent chance of catching some bass? I am very familiar with Lake Erie and surrounding streams/creeks, but I am just not sure of exactly which locations to go to.

Thanks!

You could fish the wall along the inlet to Presque Isle, either side but when fishing the inlet from a boat I noticed more fish from the island side than from the Lampe side.

The gravel pit pond is another great place to cast for bass. This water is in Fairview off of middle road.

Here's a map of Presque Isle State Park, that's where the north pier is located.

Thanks, I always called that the Coast Guard pier or the island side of the inlet.  (I know, it's not an island)
