With the election looming shortly before us, if you are not registered shame on you, you shouldn't have missed the deadline.
There is all kind of bickering going on with this board about why you should vote for this person or that person.
I would rather have someone vote for the other guy, than not vote at all !!
It is our right to be able to vote. The people who don't vote are usually the ones complainig after the elections.
Heres an idea, next time go out and  convince people to register instead of bashing the canidates here, this would be time better spent.
I could care less what party you support, but go out and vote !

Just my $.02

If you dont actually vote, you political opinion means NOTHING!  You have NO RIGHT to complain.  If you dont participate in the process, dont come crying on here when the process runs you over.

Good post JEB. I figure at this point a good 95% or more already have their minds made up as to who they'll vote for. All the bickering back and forth will not change my mind and I'm sure I'll not change yours. Only history will know who made the right choice. Amen.

And even then it depends on the historian.

Truthfully i think everyone (myself included) who gets into any type of debate at this point isnt going to change anyones mind either but also knows that going into the debate. It's just an outlet for me personaly, agree, disagree, neutral, responses do not really matter.

And yes, people who do not vote should just zip it. the both canidates are horrible argument for not voting just doesnt cut it.

And remember, there are more than two candidates.  There's probably someone out threre running for president that you might like.  It isn't throwing your vote away, it's more like sending a message to the major parties.

Good post!

Actually I used to carry voter registration cards in all of my vehicles and would pass them on to people who were not registered. You are right, it's usually the loudest complainers that aren't registered, also usually shuts them up when you hand them a registration card. Over the years I registered over 100 people (for both major parties and independents). These days with "motor voter" laws there's really no excuse for someone to not be registered.

It's almost going to take a major overhaul of our system before a third party becomes truly viable for the higher offices, until then it's just the lesser of two evils more often than not.

A right to vote is also a right not to vote.  Many people forget that.

Even if i chooses not to vote, which is my right, I still am able to complain because it is my right.

How many elections will it take for you to realise that the popular vote counts for nothing anymore?  Didn't the last two elections teach this country anything?

When they bring back the pencil/paper voting method and do away with the electoral college, I will vote.  Until then I will exercise my American right not to vote.

Thank you for your concern.

Doc

I'm looking forward to asking the old ladies that work the booths "Which one is the white guy, again???"
