Must be the Pulaski Conspiracy? I've been checking Whitakers reports for the last week, and according to them fish are in the river from top to bottom??????

If you couldn't find fish in the DSR on Sat/Sun there's a prob.

Slow or not, I'd rather be there than here. Got a fishing itch I can't scratch right now.

It seems a bit slower this year. Maybe because the town pool is off limits?

Finishing up report: I refuse to pay $30 to fish DSR. Heard mixed reports from people that were fishing there Wed,Thur, and Friday morning. Some good, most poor. It should have had fish come up the weekend, the was no good push of fish since last Friday, week ago.

I had one good day, Thursday, right time, right place, the one that dreams were made of. First few hours fish were moving. Everyone around me hooked up at least once. Last hour of light was great also. All dark fish, older. I honestly quit counting hooks ups.

Next day, fish were moved thru to the hatchery/fly zones. Friday I did work for one small legal Coho. Aside from Thursday's run, , I scouted around a lot and did not see any "huge" great runs of fish. A roped fish here or there. Cleaning stations, the best indicator of fishing conditions, were not that busy. My friends running driftboats said it was slow also on friday. Hatchery had a fair number of fish in it.
Lots of rain, 750+cfs., off color. The fish should be in thick but aren't. Estuary had lots of fish, it usually does this time of year. Bigger holes had some fish in them and they were circled by people. Lot of guys fishing during the week. It's just like the weekends now with numbers of poeple.

Oswego on Sat. had a lot of people, not a lot of hookups by the spillway. Usually you always hear, fishon-fishoff, coming up-going down... not a whole lot of yeeling Sat. Maybe people aren't lifting as much? DEC. was ticketing guys at Altmar on Friday.

Glad I had my waders on when listening to the fishing reports of how "everyone is getting fish"... Very amusing... "ya should have been at  XYZ location," yea, well i was there and it wasn't that way...well that'ss what my friend told me, or the "reports" pages from businesses". Some hooked up but no slaughter top to bottom.

All in all a nice trip anyway. Always good to get away fishing. fall colors are showing up nicely...

At Orwell Brook, there's a guy charging $10 bucks a head to fish his property. Next to the school in Altmar, people are charging $5 to park on their property.

That farmer has always done that. It's cool because most people go for the 5 dollar ground & his water isn't crowded.
Glad you had a good time & thanks for the nice report.
I want to head up for Steel again before the snow, but that depends on how my body feels between now & then.
