I would like to thank the members of this forum for thier knowledge, courtesy and insight.I have been fishing a noodle rod for Steelhead for about 12 years and have done well but always wanted to try a fly rod. Monday the 26th was my first time. Lower flows and clear water but sunny and warm. 16 hookups 4 landed. Pretty good day.I have alot to learn but because of your knowledge from tippets to knots and fly's to flows I had a great first experience. The spin fisherman(formerly me) had a tough day.

Glad you all enjoyed it.  But beware!  Fly fishing can get addictive. When you find yourself trying to justify the 1st bamboo rod then you know you've got the "monkey".  Notice I said 1st bamboo rod!  LOL

I got my first glass rod this summer, Jack ("new" glass, not antique vintage, etc)...where's that put me?

Seriously, congrats to you new fly guys. I caught my first steel on a beginner's kit 5wt setup and it was definitely a battle I'll never forget. It's great to see guys making a similar memory for themselves.
