kjn, I was told that the temp. is approx.45-50%  FYI the boat ramp is closed for the next couple of  days due to them putting cement down at the ramp area.I did see a couple of guys put in yaks at the beach.  sam

Tried to take the boat there yesterday - launch closed. Water was low - probably to fix the ramp.

Thanks for the info, crappie.  A few more degrees and everything will wake up.   It seems to me about 10 yrs ago or so the size of crappy in this lake was amazing.  I wouldn't keep anything under 12".   Caught a few in the 16" Range.   Now I'm lucky to get a 10 inch crappy.  Have you noticed the same thing?

kjn, Sometimes it depends on the weather patterns,if the water stays high in the spring it cuts down on the pressure & more fish make it to grow another year. Also the difference in electronics that makes it easier for guys to find fish cuts back the numbers that make it to another year to grow larger. But I do remember that they did seem bigger in the past. Also the weed beds that I fished are no longer there & haven't been for a few yrs. All in all that is still my favorite for slabs.  sam
