Conditions

Planning on taking a run up next weekend with GF (half fishing/half wine).  Usually fish the east side, but not hearing much. Based on the limited info will probably end up on Elk or Walnut. Anybody have any info on water conditions?

Check out Erie Times online fishing report next Friday.  Usually fairly accurate.

Poor Richards posts reports on Facebook almost daily about west side streams.

Thanks guys, I check the typical sites for info.  Didn't hear much about the east side.

Wasn't looking for spots, generally know where to find them this time of year. Don't mind working for them. Just wanted to know if water is high or low. Expecting low and clear pending rain or melt/runoff.

In mid summer I found a technique that works the best for summer steel. It's called " Hillbilly Hand Fishin ". Another technique you can mix in there is " Hillbilly Boot Scootin " . Hopa dis helpas. BH

I've done well drifting Chicken Livers under an Orange Egg Bobber thru Manchester hole.

Never tried it, but there is always an elderly man sitting in a white chair that uses Cooked Hot Dogs on the bottom in the chutes who does very well.

Those streams rise and fall rapidly high in the morning fishing in the afternoon, I've been up twice in 10 days streams looked good. I fished the bay for perch, had known trouble catching 18"-22" inch jacks beautiful fresh fish..Don't shoot me we kept 3 for the smoker.

Just keep your eyes on the handy dandy usgs gauge.

Of course, some info on stream water temperature would be helpful as well. Need to consult my chart of knowledge and lunar chart to determine which color of mop fly to use when I head up for the 16th-18th for my annual spring trip

Are the suckers in heavy yet?  If not they should be showing up any day now.  The only good thing is the smallies will be on there way soon.
