Favorite fly for steelhead
since I like dead drifting I would choose the mop and glow fly. This fly in particular seems very unnatural but it works. The standard color variations are perfect for a tandem rig. Not to mention they work in low and clear water. Mint and white work in low and clear. Easy tie. What's your favorite fly for steelhead?

Brad, either your very new to erie fishing.. or your blind.. this is, was and always will be put in - take out fishing... if you want a real perspective of steelhead go to the PNW and get woodies there over C&R

Oh for crying out loud... what do you expect duud?? I've only been back for a little over a month, and every one of your threads and/or posts are whinnying, pi55ing and moaning . Keep that up, and maybe you'll be accepted by the community here (what's left of it) You might even have something of VALUE to add ...which would be greatly appreciated . If you want to pick a fight... ..pick an ole fashion favorite ...like; spin anglers are bait chucking Neanderthals that leave all the trash or pinners are hole hogging jerks or flyrodders are lining snagging snObs don't whine about killing fish ...it's stale and boring zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and don't make fun of chubby children ...it's mEEn Make fun of Pittsburgh'ers ..it's more acceptable ,cause nobody likes them anyway ...... I hope you take my advise and not leave . this site has been DEAD for years ..we need more/new blood/more posts So toughen up Cupcake, drop your anchor and make your casts in the waters here . Light pink blood dot with a darker pink center...or Molotov cocktails at the falls made with the tears of a thousand snaggers, in a bottle stuffed with posted signs instead of rags.

I mostly spin fish because fly fisherman are line snagging snobs that lift fish and say they caught them. But when I do fly fish my go to is a gray whooly with red thread. Can probably catch more on egg patterns but I like the way they chase and crush a whooly.
Brad, this is the way almost every fishing forum is. you just have to laugh and move on. How can you take something so personal when you don't even really know the people. And if you did then you would realize its not much different than when you are with your buddies busting each others balls

I caught 2 in ankle waters with a homemade black tied jig with sparkle .. don't need to snag if you know how to make em mad .. read that here many many many times .
