20 mile creek Steelhead

just a little update on steelhead fall/winter fishing. On wednesday, (9/21/16) my buddy and i headed out to 20 mile creek (north east) there are many fish in the main bottom hole. there were 2 schools with about 20-25 fish in each. They were hitting on stone flys (black), single eggs, worms, and minows. not many fish were brought in all the way. many fish found there way off the hook. Good luck to all anglers fishing this year. Stay safe and warm.  On teusday (9/20/16) there was a 10 pound brown pulled out of 20 mile creek also.

if anyone knows about any fish in the mile creeks such as 4/12/16 please let me know thank you very much!

Well, not going there this weekend, at least not the mouth. Just like the 10 guys that flooded me at 20 last weekend after that brown trout report got posted (PS, there were zero(0) fish in there last Saturday, just the Chubs that I catch every time I fish the Tribs XD).

I get enough of that on opening day, thank you very much lol. Until January I'm going to at least attempt to avoid the most crowded areas (Manchester, Elk access, etc) unless I can't find fish anywhere else. A few guys at least 10' apart is doable, but not shoulder to shoulder!

Might be a good way to steer the crowd away from where he is really fishing, lol.

20 Mile is always loaded with chrome. Don't know why anybody would even bother with fishing the western tribs anymore. East side is the best side!

This is a thread about the greatness of 20 Mile.

Everybody knows that fish don't make it past the falls on lower Walnut anymore.  Probably not even 28 in a whole season.  So your buddy is a liar!  Fish don't even make it past Rt. 5 on Elk anymore because too many people keep them.  West side sucks.

20 Mile is the best Erie has to offer.  16, 12 and 4 are loaded now too.

The first two months of season I always crush them on 18 mile; little difficult to locate, but well worth the walk.

I am not unfamiliar with 20 mi. What road do you take off rte. 5 to get to it.. You are right about elk, walnut they just get to busy for me I havent fished them for several years because of the crowds. Walnut is going to be bad this year with the construction there. Fish-On

    Duud...don't take the banter seriously
There is nowhere in Erie tribs with any number of fish that don't get hammered with anglers

What I found, its often a matter of timing and dumb luck to walk into spots with lots of fish and little pressure

Are the burpit running? Or where those bowfins there was no concrete to lay them on to get a proper ID via tail curling

They're all in the headwaters right now, 1" water is the key, caught 76 tonight 20 miles up walnut on size 6/0 musky streamers.

Truthfully, either this guy is full of BS, or the fish all went upstream or back into the lake at warp speed. Or maybe some Eastern Europeans snagged them all. Walked 20 mile Friday, saw maybe five fish in the lower section, along with a couple of guys standing on top of the rocks on the west bank trying to hit them on the head with minnows.
