live target topwater lures

I am trying a great looking lure from Live target,it is a hollow body that floats sideways like  a dying bluegill. It cast great & doesn't tangle while retrieving. Since I caught my biggest Pike on a live gill that I was skimming across the top of the water like this does,I have high hopes for this, but since it is hollow I am unsure as to how long it would holdup to the fish.Another annoying thing is that you must shake & squeeze any water out of it or  the hooks will rust I am sure. It seems to be pretty weedless so far. Although they tell you not to use any swivels Or snaps,I have used it with a wire leader with no problems. Also it costs approx. $12 & I refuse to pay that much for a lure, but I had a couple of gift cards that I had for almost 2 yrs. because I couldn't find anything that I didn't already have so I bought 2 lures. I am wondering if anyone else used them & what do you think of them? thanks  sam  btw It is the baby bluegill style

Hammered the chit out of bass and a few 20-35" pike on them late evenings. Look a bit chewed up but still work. Their frogs on the other hand work better but the legs seem to break off after 20 or so bass..pike tore then up asap, frog body is thinner

MM, Thanks,I also have been having a problem with the weighted hook looking like it may tear out of the body. But that may be from me setting the hook too hard.Walleye seem to like them also. All in all, a nice lure but too expensive for fishing from shore. IMO   sam

I set the hook pretty hard with the sunfish one or the hooks don't drive in.

Those bait ball lures they have look awesome.  I am not sure if I can spend $20 on a lure, unless I know it will work though...  I have way too many $5-$8 lures that don't work!

got one as a gift for Xmas last year. Silver/gold shad rap shaped one. My aunt/uncle, who gave it to me, said it was a catcher. I haven't used it yet.

I bought my dad in Florida a top water mullet from them. When I used it, I couldn't get it to walk the dog very well, but I was standing in waist deep in water. He's caught a real nice jack on it, and a few other fish on it from the beach.

Are you talking about a slider type lure? They cost more than $20 and are usually custom.

Smitty, These  are off of the shelf top-waters. I got mine at G.M. because I had gift certificates.  sam
