Tackle shop

Heard trout run bait n tackle closed up.. didnt particularly care for them but any info on why? I miss B.A.C. Hopefully someone opens it back up again i love poor richards they are some good guys but only one quality bait shop on the west side is crazy if you ask me for such a large caliber year round fishery.

Was in that area a couple weeks ago Trout Run Bait and Tackle, looked to be closed up, I heard last
year that they lost the lease on the building.I was not a big fan of the place I always use Poor
    Richards.

They signed their own death certificate 5 or so years ago when they worked to get a very popular stretch of Elk shut down so that their "guides" could make some money off of a public fishery.  Ended up not happening, but the backlash was significant.  I rarely stopped there anyway because I prefer Poor Richards, but after that I never stopped there.  Rarely saw more than a couple of vehicles there the past few years.

Fish USA should take the location over!
    Its a good location.
Would love to have a reliable BAIT shop open year round with a LARGE selection of live bait.
I am a Poor Richards customer also for bait -Fish USA for most other stuff.

Ooo-weee rsquared, the backlash and rants on this site alone were enough to cost them business.  After all the calls for boycotts, I'm surprised they stayed open as long as they did.  A lot of competition with 3 bait and tackle stores in that 7 mile stretch between Poor Richards and Elk Creek Sporting Goods.

i agree man fishusa could be a heavy hitter if they took that shop over and made it strictly bait and tackle and used their showroom for seminars, meetings and tournament HQs and other fishing promoted events. They are one heckuva company from the prices down to the service.

I don't think FishUSA has any desire to put the other shops out of business.  Think about it, with the volume they sell overall they would move in there and would be able to undercut everybody else's prices.  They'd drive them out in no time, and Poor Richards and Elk Creek Sports have been there for ages. There'd be a lot of hard feelings, the huge fishing company driving out the little guys.

Glad to hear that particular dump closed. LOVED it when it was BAC. When new ownership took it over it got really crappy with totally shady individuals hanging around. Would be awesome to have Fish USA take it over as quick stop and keep the current location as warehouse/internet sales location. Will be interesting to see what happens there.

Owner always had a ****ty attitude and never had anything in stock. It sucks because poor Richards will raise prices

I just want a place that sells emeralds-fatheads-goldens small med and large-suckers-and any other type of bait legal to sell.
Fish usa is a well run place with good pricing they could do it if desired.
I also am a big fan of ALL SEASONS in Pulaski NY and how they are set up.
Poor Richards is a great place but so small and limited in what they can do IMO.

Went into Trout Run bait and tackle once to buy Aqua Seal since my waders were leaking in November. Guy working the counter never even acknowledged my presence in the store, no "can I help you" or "thank you" or anything. Stick with the other places.

Always wondered why Poor Richards never expanded over the years. Man it is tight in there when busy, but he's got the business. No complaints from me .

I agree with rsquared ,  T R cut their own throats with that backstabbing move ! SEE YA ! $$$
