None that I've seen. We're just leaving after a four day weekend and due to weather we were unfortunately stuck in the bay for 2.5 of those days, not one fish hit while we were bait fishing, jigging, and trolling. We did great on Lakers Sunday though, which are our main target species until late June.

EDIT: Water temp this morning was 53.0°F in the bay, in case that's helpful to you.

If you're an avid bass guy who knows what he's doing (which I'm not! I'm just a trout and sheepshead guy :) ) then I'd give it a shot with the water over 50.0°F which I've heard is the threshold for Smallies in PIB. But then there's the eternal question for all Erie boat fishermen: 'Will the wind screw me or not?' LOL.

Yes, it's definitely a trip I start monitoring for a week in advance. Can handle up to 3 footers with no problem, but much above that, it starts getting scary.

Usually during this "prespawn" phase, there's a good jerkbait bite going on out on the main lake.

Watching the weather and its looking like it may be best to push back a week. Pressure is going to be >30mmhg with strong east winds. Willing to bet the bay will have 3 footers and those fish will have lock jaw.

viperman - were you fishing Perry from shore, wading, or by boat? I find that I'll see people striking out from shore when others are doing well in the mouth of Misery.

Got into a few just west of the coast guard station last Saturday casting out into channel and slow retrieve in along bottom. Couldn't fish the 3' waves that were actually topping out at 8' breakers, Sunday we could get out into Lake and fish for perch, lots of bass boats out and around tip of Peninsula

Murone,  I fished from shore toward the boats that were 50 yards from me for an hour or so then went to North pier where a guy got a 15lb cat fish and a nice smallie at the same time, very funny so I helped him land both but no other fish were caught while I was there, heard they were getting perch by parking lot.  Going up today. I will report when I return.

Also, like Lampe Marina, offers access to both good spots on the main lake and bay.

Might see your boat Sunday. Definitely will be out for Lakers all day Saturday but Sunday I might be in the bay looking for the Smallies I suck at catching (LOL) if it's too rough to get out for Walleye off the point. Sea Ray 215.

Any of you guys do good this weekend? We did pretty decent on Lakers Saturday and tried the bay for Smallies today, but it was so rough I couldn't even keep a 3/8 ounce jig on the bottom. Hopefully if we get stuck in the bay again next weekend, it'll be a bit calmer anyway.

Yesterday in the morning was decent, caught 20, and a largemouth, then the front started rolling through and really shut them down, only a few in the afternoon. Poor Boy's Golby Tubes were the hot bait. Also hooked a huge walleye right off of the GE stacks, got it to the side of the boat, and went to scoop it, but it thrashed one last time and broke me off.

Today, had planned to fish the main lake until the wind picked up, then head to the bay. One fish caught on two bites, and then the bay actually ended up being rougher than the main lake IMO.

It's started, but needs to warm up a bit, and have the weather stabilize, to really get the non-stop action going.
