In the shanty would be doable, the set up and take down as well as the walk out would be brutal.

Thankfully the winds did settle down last nigh and we hit bottom at -15.
Up where I will be heading tomorrow hit -24 .
Things will start to warm up tomorrow and now they are calling for rain on Tuesday instead of snow , possibly 1.5" rain , yikes !!
No worries about the thickness of the ice but could be wet on top if we get that much rain, it would probably freeze up however overnight.

Also very thankful no frozen pipes here like I used to get in the past, musta done something right:)

It was -18 here last night and -15 now at 0830. There is very little wind and the sun is shining. Waiting for that big 20 degree warm up before I go out to do a few chores.

Beautiful morning, sun shining through the puffy white clouds dotting the blue sky with the Temperature hanging at 2 degrees, here in my little piece of Penn's Woods.

Right on about the wind HT, I don't mind the weather be it winter or summer, raining or snowing but, I don't play well in the wind.

I am not knowing, how far the temperatures dropped in my back yard last night but by the crossed eyes, on the proverbial brass monkey, I'd say it got quite cold!!

Well the water froze in the barn so hand carried 20 5 gallon buckets from the house was not fun.  Fingers were frozen so bad it hurt.  Warmed up did a few other things and called it a day. It was -4 during all this, but the wind was not blowing and the sun was shining.

Heading to do a build a bear with grandkids now then build the weeklong plan by wood stove later ..

I saw a report on this evening's news saying it hit -83 degrees on top of Whiteface Mountain today.  Oh baby!
I just read another report stating it reached -110 degrees Sunday night.

Well the easy dragging and walking are over . 6" snow fell overnight and now it's raining. Supposed to go up to 50 deg with rain and very windy. Crazy, from -10 to +50 in 24 hrs , that's a heck of a swing.
SLOWLY getting gear together to make the trip out of motel.

No fish for me yesterday 0-3 but my buddy got a nice Laker jiggin.
Different spot today

Good morning my fellow Keystone; Buckeye and Empire State, FishUSA Bloggers.  It's a beautiful morning here in my little piece of The Pennsylvania Wilds.

OAT hovering at 28 degrees Fahrenheit with a gentle wind blowing  out of the North.  Still dark outside my windows but it appears, in the dawns early light, to be snowing in reminiscence of the 'proverbial cow and flat rock'.  Looking at the real time radar, it will continue to do so til about 11:00 AM my time.

As for those to my north and east, it appears the 'cow and flat rock syndrome' is taking place,in real time, and looks to be in the form of a different type of precipitation.

Stay dry, be safe and think spring.

PS. Stay off the roads if yinz can and let the salt shaker operators get-r-done.

Overnight it snowed, then alerted, then freezing rain, the glazed over in ice, and now is pouring rain.

There was no good way for the road crews to do anything.

Ice is piled up in the middle of the lanes with water running in a current in the tire tracks. A lot of ground effects will be damaged on the morning commute and there will be a spike in slip and fall lawsuits because there is water lying on top of the ice on sidewalks.

What a mess.

We had about 3" already on the ground last night before this one started, a foot now, and it is coming down about 3" per hour, predicted to stay at this intensity until noon then taper off until 5 PM (which says we'll end up with more than the upper limit 16" of the forecasts I heard last night).  We are petitioning City Council to have Rochester renamed East Palermo or East Parish, which ever is not taken!LOL  Will be enjoying some snowshoeing this PM to clear paths for the dog and the postman.  Had hoped to hit ice on Honeoye today, it was safe at the South end yesterday, and even Canadice was looking like a couple of more days would allow some jigging, but now it looks like it will be a chimera by the weekend!  But there will be chrome in the LO tribs when this one melts off!

Snow, ice, freezing rain, rain.  Things are a mess but improving as the temperature rises.  A brief power outage this morning around 7:00 am.  Some localized flooding but not too bad.  Once this front moves through the weather should be decent for a few days.

I may try to shake off some of my cabin fever by taking a ride to the OSEG outdoors show in West Springfield Ma this weekend.  Perhaps stop at Cabela's in East Hartford on the way home.

I've been shoveling and roof raking since 06:30 to the extent I can at 64.9 years young, and I'm still not keeping up.  18-20" in the back yard right now, I've taken close to 15" off the roof and its ready to go again!  Did I mention that I also hate snow!

Ice fishing sled has come in handy for moving snow from the roof and around the house out to the back yard, probably all it will see use for this season.   Travel Advisories for all area counties, massive problems out here in WNY!

Lots of snow here for sure.
18 inches at least in my driveway.
Lucky shoveling this stuff isn't adviced for the aging.
Not even a young buck  such as yourself.

Shoveled enough to get the car into the driveway  and past the sidewalk.
Done!

We got about 6+ or so inches of the wet heavy stuff that keeps the form of the plow when you push it . Got some freezing rain and some real rain. Lots of flooded streets in the cuse

What ground cover of snow I had from recent storms is gone only to be replaced by mud season.  Each and every time my chocolate lab goes out she brings back muddy paws.  I hope we get some winds to dry out the muck.  I hate this time of year!

I do a little then rest a little, and I had a lot of help with the heavy stuff the plow left, as Bobby O came by with his plow an got the apron and up the hill a little.  If I don't rake the roof, I'll be up there on a ladder with an ice pick hacking away the ice that will form.  Thank Heavens it has stopped, as have I, with my rubber band arms!  But I can understand how a decrepit old _____ like you could wait until the weekend thaw melts it off!

As we get ready to embark on day 3 in Laker land , the weather has again took another swing . All that rain yesterday has turned to frozen skating rink .
In 3 days it went -10, + 50 & now to an normal 27 degs outside .
Looks like by the weekend it will be back to 50 , crazy stuff.

Got up to 54 yesterday and that along with the heavy rain the driveway cleared completely of all the slop.So I did not have to touch the shovel or blower! Now we are going to dry out for a few days so my best friend and I can take a few walks.
