The Burbout population is not going to be depleted by the very limited sport fishing being done. I was sport fishing for them on south peer a few years ago alongside a former Commercial Fisherman. He kept in touch with some of the still in operation Commercial Fishermen who informed him that Lake Erie was teeming with Burbout and not being utilized.

Anyone crazy enough to ice fish in the channel for these guys? I'd love to try it if I had an auger. That is, if no freighters were coming through XD.
