Jumpin Jimini Cricket with things like that swimmin around steel country, no wonder the boys have been seeing a reduction in the tribs.  I don't know if that thing is alone or, if it eats a lot of Steelhead but, I'm bettin noooo salmonid  is gonna chance finding out and, steers clear of the area.

Did that thing have the heart pumpin while ya was reeling it in, Zippy?

I thought I was snagged for a while then 15 minutes later got the first look at it and about freaked out. I kept it together and had the wife head for deep water, which saved the day. 10# mono is tougher than I thought.

Never weighed it as my scale is screwed up. I was guessing in the 25# range.

Congratulations Zip that is a dandy and while we are on the subject, a little more about that second fish if, ya don't mind?  Looks like a mighty happy camper holding that one too.

Nice cat.  There are a few of those that size swimming around Arthur, and they only bite on rods with super light line so they can LOL while they destroy your gear and swim off.  Pretty sure Erie has most of the top channel cat records for PA.

I hooked into something way tooo heavy for my noodle rod and 6lb test about a week ago at 16-Mile. Hit the lure hard within a couple moments of it hitting water and I couldn't stop him till the hook got spit.
Not sure what it was, but I would bet it was a big ol' cat.

I have caught quite a few in Moraine, but never any over 30". Lost one that was probably close to this one.
