Here are a few on my hit list.  second year with the new property but it is already paying off.  Have a few more with interesting kickers, stickers and palmation's, but these are my best.

BTDT, very cool.  Bears are one of the hardest animals to judge and this one you can't quite see all of it, but i would guess 100-150 lbs.  Definitely a young bear based on his ear size relative to his head.  Likely a 2 year old male that got kicked out by mama and is looking for new turf. Hopefully he will stay and provide you with lots of viewing pleasure.

Thanks SaltWater, sure is exciting to capture wildlife pictures like the bear.  Other pictures show it turning and heading back in the same direction.  I'm thinkin the infra red glow from the camera may have spooked it.  The animal was just feet from the camera when the shutter fired for three shots. In less then 3 seconds the bear turned and was gone.

    Big Bear-little ears
    small bear big ears
    Mickey mouse ears-small bear
seems their ears don't grow much as they age
Would guess one and a half to two years old

    Appreciate your input r3g3, thank-you.

I hunted bear wayyyyy back, during the early seventies, in the area of Marienville PA. when shooting a adolescent bear was a no..... no! Golden rule back then was to size the head of the bear with the body.  If the head of the bear looked out of proportion to the body, it was considered to be a young bear.

I know it's not uncommon for a bear (especially a boar) to travel five miles a day but, I'm hoping this one finds a reason to pass by one of my cameras a few more times.  Just hope the bear doesn't try and eat a camera!

    Thanks again.

Went with my hard hunting cousin Fred to Maine for years hunting Bear over his gang of Plots. We shot very few and treed many-were there mainly for the chase with the dogs.
Saw a number of Bear up trees where ya just tied off the dogs and sat and watched the Bear for a while--then went off and tried it all over again- good times and MILES through the woods---a fit young mans game.
Generally didn't shoot anything unless a hunter came along who really wanted one ( and then we got pickey) or the Bear stood to fight and kill dogs (if we could get there in time). You haven't seen thick till ya get out back in some of those Maine woods and swamps.
Was great sitting back and hearing the dogs work.
Learned a bit bout Bear too.
Know what ya mean bout small ones- guys sitting in a stand all season waiting an only see one every now and then can unintentionally add lots of size-till they walk up to it and see the meaning of 'ground shrinkage'. Ears can be a real indicator.

Btdt if you don't want it send it my way, always told everyone how I'd love to see a bear in my back, possible pet thing. Hunted bear in Elk county by Medix Run for 6 years only saw one during season decided too far a shot. Before and after season always spotted a least one.Guys I hunted with figured I was crazy cause the last 3 yrs I camped on top of mountain and loved every minute!!

    I guess buddy, good luck!

I have a picture of an animal I first thought was a opossum but a second picture shows the tail to be different.  Could this be a Fisher?

    Then I got this picture:

I'm leaning toward the blurred picture also, but the coat seems heavy and the legs appear a bit long for a opossum.  I'll be going back to the camera in a day or two, it'll be interesting to see those pictures.

If yinz are going out Sat, good luck!  I won't be in my favorite deer stand but, I'll be close.
