I'm looking forward to trying this myself as well. It'll be cool to troll in 10 feet of water trying to not snag any lures or destroy the cannonballs :). I've personally found that steelhead don't care that much about speed as long as you're above 1.7 and under 3.2. I've also had them smash anything from stingers to big reef runners so probably just depends on what the individual fish is in the mood for.

Divemaster  I think u do better w/o the riggers ans cannonballs Planer boards are the ticket u can run your boards way up to shore.

Maybe, we don't have planers though lol. That'd make me nervous to be so close to shore and have planers out on our sides while angler's are casting lures from shore and we're trying to dodge other boats as well. Downriggers are nice and compact so I don't have to worry about someone snagging them. We do need to get planers for open water next year though.

I was at trout run yesterday after work..no steelies yet. I'm sure u can find a few lakefront somewhere, but too much other good fishin right now. I'll be back in a few weeks.
Caught my first bowfin, and about 25 more! Those things were hittin creek chubs every 30 seconds! Almost got a musky too. Almost.

"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."

Anyone seeing steelies starting to school up by the mouths yet? Hoping this cold front will send them on their way towards the tribs soon, way easier to find them in 15 feet than 100 :).

South = good

North and West = Bad

From what I seen 10 to 20 MPH winds this weekend. Lake will be in bad shape with N, NNE, NW winds.
