Ohio River Dam and backchannel

anyone having any luck there?

I used to fish them both heavily around 8 yrs ago...then had 2 boys and really haven't fished much...they are old enough now for navigating the back channel and probably fishing "the wall" @ the dam in the front side

used to kill the white/stripe/rock bass with white jigs

also use creek chubs and suckers for big eyes and cats...

caught tons of eyes - nearly every cast, at times - jigging mirror image plastic (minnows) on the back channel just before dusk...

of course, getting kids interested in fishing is CATCHING...lol...so any tiips on what's biting would be appreciated

obviously, best success fishing rivers from bank is when they are high

plan on taking them to venture outdoor's lunchtime fishing tomorrow as well

I would think the water is going to be up quite a bit for a couple days if this Freaking would stop with the monster down pours !!  The fishing is probably not much different than it has been. I would use the same basic lures and maybe see what other people are using there.
