Boat Ramps at Lake Arthur

I just bought a "Bass Buggy" pontoon boat.  It sits much higher on the trailer than my jon-boat, and so I am thinking it would be best for me to use a boat ramp that is steeper/deeper than shallow.  I have only used the HWY 528 ramp in the past.  Can anyone tell me what boat ramps at Lake Arthur is steeper / deeper?   Thanks.

Isn't there still a ramp across from the 528 launch at/near the loudspeaker Jesus church?  ISTR that thing being like 45 degrees.  The 422 main launch mentioned above is probably the best maintained launch in the lake.  They just rebuilt the docks with some nice trex there.  The launches at Bear Run and McDaniel's are shallow AND in bad shape.  I'd still think you could launch there if you backed way in.  Same with 528.

Those buggys DO run high though... like a foot higher than most toon rigs.  Guy at 422 pulled a 22' DLX out and it towered over me.  I'm 6'2" and I had to look up to see the deck.

Not a boat guy, but do fish there once in awhile.  It is closed as a launch now, with boulders blocking the launch.

Are you talking about Crescent Bay Boat Rental near the park office? I am looking at a "fishing Hot Spot" map.

If you were asking ZelieSam and I, no.

This is a launch off of 528 at the Zion Baptist Church.  It's right before you cross the 528 bridge heading north.

Google map the lake, change to satellite, look for the church southeast of the 528 bridge.  You'll see the launch.  The sat didn't show boulders, but I'll take rsquared's word for it being closed.  Sat pics tend to lag up to a year or so.

Not huge boulders, but big rocks that probably took more than one person to purposely place there.

Either that, or Sasquatch was messin' with fishermen.

    Edit:
Just looked at Google Earth.  The dock is still there in the pic, but is not at the ramp any longer.  Kind of a noob to Arthur myself, but I do believe the closure happened last year.

Mikey, I had a 27ft poon and like to launch at either @ the 528 bridge or the Mcdaniels launch. Mcdaniels use the one to the far left when looking at the dock/ramp. Bear run isn't to bad, But the wind can make it a little bit of a pain in the Arse loading back up>

I don't know; but I been told, the boulders were placed at the launch at the request of KAYAKERS!  With weed removal/control being next on the list.

W O W  If they de-weed that side of the lake, people will lose their SHIrTs!  I'm talking complete meltdown.  Lake has always sort of been unofficially divided into serious fishing (528 side) and those other guys + sailboaters (422 side).  Guys will be sniping kayakers from the bridges, and running pirate boarding parties out on the lake.  End of days.

As for the launch... meh.  Was never very popular.

I thought we all agreed to keep quiet about the secret goliath grouper fishery in Arthur?  Place will be a mob scene now!

But seriously, way to mis-identify the fish in your story.  Brindle Bass?  WTF.  Unless Florida is a lot closer to Australia since I last checked.  Global warming and all that.  Idiots.
