I could use a couple of loads of manure for my vegetable garden.  Unfortunately I don't know of any dairy farmers near by.  Bummer about the calf, hope momma makes it.

Well we gave her another shot of penicillin today and she looked no worse today so I am encouraged a little . She  ate a little grain and drank half pail of water.  no fever yet either. She tried to stand today but did not make it.  We put a deposit on to pigs today and we get them on Friday.

It is dry as heck up here, we need rain. Got out yesterday for a few hours. Tall bridge was nothing going on, trestle had a million smolts jumping everywhere. Saw on fish that was seriously best up and had one tug. Close to 90 tomorrow.............

What a GREAT week to be on vacation living on the Daisy Mae . Many many stripers have hit the deck and ALL slot release fish. We absolutely hammered them today .
Glad to say all our releases have been success, sad to say other boats have been releasing floaters :(
I will try and upload pics once I get to a land line by sunday

Continues to be very warm and dry here. We had a few sprinkles and a few VERY brief , but localized showers. It was a fair night, we went out on Oneida from 6 until 11. It was my first night time adventure and of course we forgot the flashlights. Luckily the running lights and our cell phones did the trick. There was plenty of light to navigate by. All fish came from 8 to 9:00.  Two pickerel, one 19 inch eye and a perch. Had a few bites after dark, but no hookups.

Good soaking rain today, we needed it. I got well over 100 crawlers in half hour at around 1100. Had to stop due to storage. They were out so thick is seemed there were 20 in sight every few steps. At $5 for 24 I did good for 1/2 hour.

Yes very much needed. Maybe a frost in the next couple days too. What a wacky two weeks its been as it was 30's and snowing 2 weeks ago, then days of no precip and 80's. Nice job on the crawlers! Will have to get the little man out on the hunt this evening

Nice job with the crawlers Clint.  The last rain we had a few weeks back I had small crawlers all over the driveway I should have collected them and set up a crib for a steady supply.
Growing up I used to go to the local golf well after dark with a pail and a flash light.  Used to collect night crawlers by the hundreds and put them in a wooden milk crate lined with newspaper and filled with compost.

1:05 am; OAT 32 degrees F....

Better half and I spent about an hour just before sunset covering all the new plants/flowers we planted this past weekend.  Certainly glad we took the time to do that after seeing the current temp.  Heck of it is, our area has no advisory/warnings of frost and/or freezing temps.  Go figure!

We had to to cover all of our outdoor flowers and a few new shrubs but, we made it through the frost.  Thankfully, just tilled the veggie garden and only taters were put in.  Tomorrow, we plant 'maters', beans, turnips, kohlrabi, corn, etc.

Yummy............

Super cells rolling through as I type.  I'll take it but what we really need is a soft steady rain for a few days.  Batten down the hatches.

Clint we got some steady stuff last night, did you get it? Even a little lightning... It is extremely dry. Ma nature may reset herself after this spring in to summer transition.. I've already seen lightning bugs/fireflies

Yes we go about an hour of downpours. Rained so hard it left piles of crap at the ends of my gutter downspouts. A little lightening mixed in

Supposed to be some boomers this afternoon we will see. Just got some plants to fill in the ones that did not make it. Cut a bunch of wood yesterday and got my little piggie. Their names are sausage and bacon.
