Presque Isle Bay May Smallmouth Fishing

Hey guys, I'm from WV but come to Presque Isle Bay every year to fishing for smallies the last week of May. This year I had to move my trip up to May 7th-9th. I'm worried that with such a late spring the smallmouth won't be in the bay yet. How do you all think the smallmouth fishing will be? Any tips or anything? Thanks

    I come up every weekend in May from WV also! I'll be there this weekend for some smallies. Might have to go out in the main lake for them!

    Kinda new to fishing the bay and lake.  Hoping to make it up Friday the 1st and the forecast currently says winds N 10-15.  is that the best direction for a calm trip?

    That's awesome! How did you do this past weekend? Did you fish the bay or main lake? Water temp?

    Fish are starting to arrive in the bay, still slow fishing this weekend. With the warm weather this week more should show up and move shallower.

    We fished main lake! Water temp was 47-51! We hammered them! PM for details but caught over 150 smallies in 2 days! Biggest was 6lbs 7oz
