Bad luck

So I haven't fished in Erie for almost 4 months, a record for me. I'm
working there Wednesday and thurs and was really looking forward to finally catching steel again. But forecast looks horrible. If the tribs blow out, anywhere else one recommends to fish? I'll try lakefront but probably gonna be pretty choppy. This stinks!

I don't fish in Pennsylvania. I fish in Ohio. I have found when the creeks/ rivers are high and muddy I can still catch steelhead in the smaller stream that feed the main creek/river. They are usually clearer and more fish able. Just a thought.

I haven't fished it myself, but if main streams into lake are blown out I would try in PI Bay instead, you will have less wind/wave problem and may find them cruising from the inlet into the area near the stream which feeds into the bay.  One of the streams is restricted, I believe, but you can probably fish the wall at the inlet for fish heading in or out.

Creeks are in good shape Alex.
Elk has a nice flow and color.

Yeah the forecast was completely wrong! Fished about six hours, landed a few. Thanks for the recommendations everybody. Nice to finally get out again.
