Shenango River Fishing / photos by Captain Hook

Fishing on Shenango River offers a nice variety of fish species to catch. I have been fortunate to live close by and enjoy the many years of fishing.  The river has changed very little over the 50 plus years I have fished it. The river is open 365 days a year 24/7 ! Soon Spring will break and make for some nice fishing weather. I hope real soon ! Here are some past fishing photos on Shenango........my river !

Looks like Walleye stringers like these will be far and in between on into the future with no continuous stocking program. It's already showing the past few years........sucks!

The walleye numbers definitely seem to be down in the river the last few years.

Walleye numbers are way down on Shenango River. Fished hard for one. Send comment's to the Fish Commission via "The Fishing Hole" I did.  Why did they stop stocking Walleye and Stripers since 2007 in the river  ?   http://fishandboat.com/inform.htm

Dang, what are you catching all these fish on? I'm going to Shenango today or Sunday and last time we went I only caught a small LMB and a decent crappie.
