I made a quick trip down to Denver, PA yesterday to pick up a new pup, a chocolate Labrador
retriever and did the turn around run home this morning.  Mostly rain and freezing rain through PA into NJ but changed over to all snow north of RT 80 on RT 287.  By 9:30 AM the roads were slick as I crossed the Hudson River at the Beacon/Newburgh Bridge.  Made it home by 10:00 AM without incident.  Say hello to Stella Blue.

Super nice looking pup there Gerry , I see she is already getting spoiled :) good for you and I'm sure Stella as well.
Snowing pretty heavy here on the JOB and the ride home will be a disaster with all the " first snow " drivers out there.
Thankfully I was able to get the boat all covered up and put to bed last night, now I can work on the woodstove install tomorrow , cut some meat on fri and hope to bag another on sat, Sunday will be a much needed day of rest for me

She's a beauty, Gerry! Don't let her get too much from the table tomorrow if you can help it. She looks pretty darn hard to say no to.

r3-That's okay, it will help keep me young. LOL
fichy-no table scraps for this pup.  If she is anything like my Springer Spaniel (deceased) she'll head straight for the garage when we sit for dinner.
HT- Thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Your like me Rich, I wish we got a foot or so early and then none the rest of the year. Just keep it cold enough to make ice.

23 degrees... Lake effect snow... Christmas decorations and Christmas songs on the radio... The only thing missing is steelhead... Hopefully that'll change soon..

Are you talking about personal steelhead?  Those things in the pix Clint has been submitting, and that 3fan submitted yesterday, look suspiciously like steelhead.

A chilly 8 deg @ 3am when I awoke.. First single digits so far..
Lost power just before I turned in last night.. Got the buddy heater out just to matain the heat we had in the house.. Power came back about 1am so all is good so far.. I'm really not quite ready for the deep freeze yet (house wise) but it's coming fast and I will be giving it my all on sunday to get that woodstove installed ..

Stay warm folks and happy hunting/fishing to those that get out...
P.S.
I did see some pretty pic's of water and Chrome last night ;)

Well only 24 at 0400 here this am and no fresh snow just the 6 or so from yesterday. Probably going to take today off from fishing and get some stuff done around here............

Same here clint... That "warm" lake is keeping our temps up still ...for now... 23 holding now going up to 35. I'm puttering with stuff all day today and even getting the Christmas tree... But something's telling me that I should be giving thanks on the water right around that time its 35 mercury point... Even if its only for 30 minutes

Man , one extreme to another . While its not cold out @ 43 degs, it sure is making a MESS out there.
The eves are pouring water on me while trying to mount the stove pipe. The ground is mud city . Wife is loving what I'm doing to the floor.

Anyone planning a trip for this week: KEEP YOUR EYES IN THE WATERLINE FLOWCAST!!! As of our last wet/warm event the reservoir did fill up to the brim... After last nights warm soaking rain that followed a well above freezing day; FLOW GAUGES ARE GOING VERTICAL... I think a larger bump in water is inevitable at this time

My friend from Henderson stopped by yesterday, and he said the Sandys were roaring.  For him to comment they have to be really high.

1200 cfs extended through Wednesday... Panning out to be an average fall temp and precip wise... A full reservoir is a good thing at this point in time... Long range looks to be seasonable temps... But who knows when the lake effect will errupt again. Its now 28 in the village with snow. Supposed to be a low of 30 with increasing temps through the evening turning precip in to sleet and freezing rain...

Really slick... Snowing really good out there right now and seems shocking that its gonna switch over to rain.... Real big mass over the lake right now... I'm home and safe now but its a bad time of year for blinding snow with no plow banks along the sides of road to help guide you

kinda a snotty mess out here.. The ground remained pretty firm at the JOB today and the local ponds stayed locked up. With the forecast staying on course, I should be walking on water weekend after this
