hows the fishing?

hi folks! planning a trip with my dad this weekend and I was wondering is it going to be worth the two hour trip up? if anyone could give any info I would greatly appreciate it thanks

    you got that right would rather be out then inside. when I say worth it I mean a few hook ups at least don't care if I land them not keeping them anyway just want to catch them.

    roads are good up north just wet when it snows other then that no problems and the creeks still pretty low and clear gotta work for them

    My son in law is hoping to get his first trip up to the tribs this Saturday. Are the streams fishable? Roads drivable?

    Yes, the official part of the season where u might not be able to fish because creeks are frozen over, or u gotta bust ice out, and your guides, fingers and toes freeze too. I just love it.
    Actually there's gonna be major blowout this weekend with that warmup. So all the "real steelheaders" will have to wait till the polar vortex returns.

    Hit Elk today some freshies came in.
    Not ALOT of fish being caught around me but plenty of people walking up and down the creek probably saw a dozen hookups.
    I did well went 10 for 19 in 4 hours that was all in one spot.
    I strolled around couldn't find any more  in the available spots but it was GREAT to finally get out.

    Well done WCW! We left Charlotte NC at 6pm yesterday and drive thru the night. Pulled into town at 5am, slept for a few hours and hit upper Elk around 11. Didn't see many fish and only hooked/landed one small steelie. No fishing in the plans for tomorrow but my son and I will be back on the water on Friday. Flow and color of Elk looked good today. Happy Thanksgiving!
