Any Local Help Me Out

I live about 4 hours away and want to make the trip up for some steelheads on saturday but last time i drove up it was un-fishable due to fast flows and high waters. Can someone tell me how the water creek flows and weather will be this weekend? * P.S. I am new to this site if there is already a thread about this topic sorry.

Thanks

You will likely face similar conditions depending on how much rain we get today through tomorrow, may not be unfishable though. Tomorrow morning would be your best bet

Kinda hard to say till precip actually comes down.  If the forecast holds for later today and tonight - most forecasts are calling for 1/4" to up to 1/2" of rain - Elk and Walnut might be anywhere from great to blown out.

If it's 1/2" or more, some of the smaller streams may fish well by mid morning or early afternoon.

Best bet is to check the gauge on Walnut here:

And here's a great post with pics and a little explanation:

In general, if the gauge on Walnut is 150 CFS and rising, Elk and Walnut are usually on their way to being high and muddy.  When it gets to 125 CFS on the drop, Walnut is OK and Elk will drop a little more slowly.  200 CFS and dropping is when some of the smaller streams can get pretty good.
