amundson savvy edge centerpin combo review

Well decided to try out the amundson savvy edge combo. The good?
Price.
the rod has awesome action.
Smooth reel
the bad?
The reel is falling apart after three days of using it. The center pin itself in the reel keeps backing out of the back of the reel. Not good. Huge wobble. Overall im happy with it once i get the reel replaced. I have a feeling i just got a bad reel.
Good day
-Joe

Joe:  I have no idea if it would work but could you put a drop of the removable Loc-Tite on the nut to hold the reel together for your trip?

Centerpinning brings nothing but bad mojo & inner emotional torment to all those who choose to partake.

Trade the whole thing in for something you can actually use in the Erie ditches..

I agree with bings. (Imagine that ;)) Only a few holes on elk where the centerpin truly comes in handy. If you want to be practical ditch it. If you want to just have fun with a new method keep up with it. And by the way i pin fly and spin fish so im not a hater.

not trying to be ignorant, but I have an etiquette question.  I know it's irritating when people try to cram into an already over crowded spot, but is it rude to step in on pinners?  Last year on a popular stretch of Elk that comfortably fishes 6 to 7 guys, I really wasn't sure if it was ok to walk in on 2 pinners monopolizing that entire stretch solely due to the type of equipment they were using.

You're actually thinking about fishing that hole? I usually am in awe of how cool someone with a center pin looks, that I can't fish.

Man was was asking a good question showing sportsmanship. For a guy who claims to know how a TEAM works your kinda sarcastic.

you bought it for the right reason then. When you get good these guys trash talking pinners will be jealous because a good pin man can outfish a fly fisherman everyday

I been lookin' at this concept and think I'll try it from my boat in the middle of a lake where I have loads of room. Can't even picture me using a fly rod on one of the tribs with other anglers fishing nearby. Almost sure it wouldn't be pretty.

I think from a boat, on a river might be better approach.  Not sure if you will cover much water in a lake.  I'm sure if you were able to get Elk all to yourself, you'd destroy fish.  For the average day on an Erie trib, is it anything more than an expensive noodle rod?
