Yellow Creek

Has anyone been fishing it? I'm looking for some crappies that are a little closer than Pymie. I really don't need any secret spots or anything. I'm just curious if the lake is known for producing enough quality crappie to make the trip worthwhile. Thanks.

John , There are some very nice Black Crappie & Yellow Perch in there, little tough to fish there because of the weeds & usually is very windy. Lot of Largemouths & Northerns there also. Usually a good ice fishing destination also. There is a bait shop there by the name of (Riiddles) 724-479-8169 his name is Jim He has a lot of knowledge of the lake & will help you.  sam

Thanks Sam. I knew that you would be the guy to respond. I really appreciate it. When is the last time that you fished there? I saw that a lot pike come out of there. If there are a lot of weeds, then Weeds+Pike+=Slabs. I might have to check it out.

John, I was there at ice-out for Northerns, almost a sure thing. I was getting them on smelt under a bobber. I get quite a few,but mostly 22-28" I never got a really big one there. Just sort of a  spring ritual for me.  sam

    I haven't caught a Northern in years. I wouldn't mind it.
