Had my Tailgate stolen while fishing Twin Lakes

I was fishing the lower lake 7-8:30pm I parked in the far back parking lot got done fishing around 8:30pm and noticed someone stole my tailgate right off the back of my truck while it was still light out. I just figured I would post this just to warn people to use caution while fishing there and hopefully not have the same issue I had. The Picture is of my tailgate before someone stole it, and if anyone knows anything about it please contact me.

Twin Lakes does not seem like the type of place to have a tailgate stolen, so this is very surprising and a bit upsetting.

I assume you mean license plate since the tailgate is still there?

Bunch of lowlives. I never had any problems at Twin Lakes but being that I drive a soft top jeep the thought is always in the back of my mind.

A few years ago I remember hearing of items being stolen out of vehicles there. I think they even had signs up in the lots telling people to lock their cars.

The noon KDKA news report ran a story about recent vehicle break-ins at Indian Lake Park.  They said they have arrested a suspect and found several stolen items.  I have the program on the dvr but was unable to find the story on their website.

Be careful out there at night.  Don't know how many times i've been out there past midnight and cars would make multiple trips around the area driving really slowly past our vehicles.  Probably looking for unlocked cars.

I read about people stealing tailgates from pickups. Had a salesman show me how easy it was to take them off a truck. I always try to lock my tailgate when leaving the truck outside. It should at least make it a little harder to take.

Did they mention who the suspect was at Indian? I grew up in the area and just wondered.
