Lucky that is a great idea but with 2+ inches that fell across the region (tug hill got hit the hardest) I imagine those waters are pretty blown

Getting hit with torrential rain as I type.  Localized flooding all over the lower part of the state.  I'm in the process of having a new driveway installed so no work today.  Hope to have 4000 square feet of new blacktop down by Friday.

According to the forecast showers will be spotty until this evening. Cloudy right now with a slight breeze.  Like DB said we got HAMMERED last night and combined with yesterdays rain there is a lot of water flowing.  Just got back from a 5mile walk and the weather was pleasant to say the least.

We did a little drive around this morning. Hatchery had 1 large fish in raceway. Looked like a brown. River didn't look bad flow or clarity . The rain was heavy but the winds BLOW !! If things don't improve by Friday it might be time to hit the highway .

It has been solid 5-6 all day . Wind never let up at all right along the shore here .It's cranking HARD now, 8's , easy... Sitting here watching the waves 2 days in a row is getting old and tiring. Small craft warnings till Friday night ( so they expect tomorrow to be a wash already ) might just drive the Daisy Mae back to home thurs afternoon
Been fun except there are still plenty of fish left in the lake for the river walkers
Labor Day release should be very fishy !!

Sorry to hear that, HT. I was hoping you'd have lots of pics and had some finny adventure. I'm sure you had a good time anyway. I think I'll be going low as soon as there's a pretty good push in.

HT,I feel for you buddy,I know you were really looking forward to getting that boat out there and slaying the King! But that's the real downside of boating on the big O....the weather.Too bad it's too early for the run or at least you could have that to fall back on.
I can't believe this weather we're having, looks like we are having a 60 day Sept. and no Aug.!

Thanks for the consolations guys. The wind CRANKED hard yesterday afternoon with 10 footers I bet. Many tents and ez ups were scattered about the campground.
Woke up , packed up and hit the highway about 7:30.

I would call this a heavy soaking  rain  for the last few hours. No water issues this fall it will not be easy pickings lie last year, this may deem well for repo a plus of numbers are low from the flood

Looking at the radar map it appears to be raining on the SR again, that 1500 might be running a little longer.

Well 'Cuse got POUNDED by rain this am in time for the great NYS fair. I could hear the boomers on the background. So far all we have gotten is a stray shower. No water last year to 1500 in August for a week. If the water remains higher then normal will early steel in numbers be a possibility.

Well I'm hoping this all points to a slamin on the salmon this weekend for the Mae :)
Will it bring in the steel early ? Typically there are quite a few around with the salmon anyway . A bit more usually around 2nd week in oct and by the 20th , which is when I used treat my wife to our anniversary in salmon county , my targets were steelhead .
Gosh I hope they wait until the circus leaves so they have a bit more of a chance .

Yup... Pounded in the 'cuse ... 2 rounds of it.

Clint back in either 00... Or 01 first weekend in September a large run of early kings came in... Huge pods of steelhead filled in the gaps between the pushes of kings... So the potential is always there

Was there with my Uncle that year Andy- We were going North Bear hunting the following week so came to Sr a bit earlier than usual.
We fished the DSR and the action of Kings and Steel was nuts for the two days we were there.

Well it is pouring out now. Been going on for 35 minutes and counting.  Boomers are coming and going . Even a few flickers from the lights.  Having Walleye and sunfish from my last Oneida trip for dinner.

The rain has been unbelievably!!! The river in town was brown yesterday afternoon with the creeks that run through haledane park roaring... Definitely was over 2k in town... Nice steady prevailing east wind last night in to this morning... More kings should be staged or staging at this point near the river mouth...If the river does go down to 335 there should be some salmon hitting g the bank tomorrow. I'd love to know how many slipped through this long stretch of high water

Wow, didn't check pineville yesterday... If pineville was 2k town was probably more like 3k,.. The Haldane creeks were busting from the seems and I imagine Orwell and trout brook must've been roaring... Ground is completely saturated...

Sometimes it's good to be too busy to get away. That 335 projection  was awful tempting after all the high water. I'm glad it was a thought not a plan...
Pretty soon. Andy, you got a get out there and put one on the board for us  bank walkers. I wonder if any are at the hatchery. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a webcam there!

Weather is great today. It is my nephews 15 birthday and party today so I will be partying on.

On a side note I wanted hashbrowns for breakfast today and we were out of potatoes. Walked up and dug one plant. I got 2 pounds from that plant. Best I have ever one. I have about 40 plus plants to dig and by the looks all will yield the same. That's alot of potatoes. I will can some and try to save some in the basement. Of course my dad and sisters family will each take some too so there should be none wasted.

And there you have it folks... Back up to 1500... To think that they even imagined bringing it down to 335... The past few weeks have had many record breaking days at pineville in which most that weren't record breaking were close with the record being 2010... Hint hint... They better keep there eyes peeled ...
