Wading boots sizing

How to pick the right size for a wading boot over breathable waders is a mystery to me. Is there a set size upgrade that is done for regular shoe size to wading boot size.  I have so much trouble getting into waders and boots due to Arthritis I was wondering Saturday if it could be due to the boots being too small. I went up one size; 9 1/2 to 10 1/2. But they are so tight I wonder if I didn't get them large enough. Also, anybody have any thoughts on velcro straps versus laces.  This stuff all sounds so petty, but the doggone bad hip is making me wonder if I can keep wading, so I am  looking for anything to make it easer.

Agreed, I was able to take my waders to hook and hackle really the only way to be sure if they fit is to try the boots on when you have your waders on.

I ordered a pair of wading boots 1 size larger. They were too small so I gave them to my son. I ordered a different brand same size, they fit great. Do what KJH said to help you.

For size i have Bean waders and Korker boots, they are 1 size up and fit just right. I also got the Korkers that have a BOA system, which is just a knob which is turned to tighten down the steel cable that has taken the place of the laces. It has been much quicker and easier than having to lace up boots, and id imagine them even more effective if just barely being able to get into them and having a bad hip.

Definitely take your pair along to try the wading shoes on if possible.  I got mine at Cabelas in Wheeling and just tried them on with a pair of similar waders they had instead of dragging my pair along.  I would perhaps also suggest getting at least a one width wider shoe in addition to a size or two larger.
