Thingamabobbers

Does anyone use the thingamabobber strike indicators?  How do you attach them to your leader?  They say they are easy to put on and adjust but don't say how.

    Double the leader over and slide the small loop through the hole in the bobber. Once the loop is through the hole, take it over the body of the bobber and pull it snug.

    thead the leader
    peg the hole
    DONE
    no kink and easy to adjust

    I rig the old style on a 1/2" dropper. Same lb test as leader butt section. 15 or 20 lb. Works great. Can slide the thing up & down to adjust depth with one hand. The 2 nail knots would work well too.

    This subject has the same principle as dog training,you have to know just a little more than the dog. In this case you have to be smarter than the bobber.I hope this helped.!!!!!!!!!!

    I was out in Seattle recently and one of the outfitters there sold leaders with Thingamabobbers threaded onto the leader, with nail knots tied above and below the float. It can be slid up and down the leader as needed. I use furled leaders, and when I get a free moment, I will tie a few to try them out.

    Do they work well ? I do not like the round design, looks to me like a lot of resistance when a fish pulls it under. But I've never tried them for that reason.
    KJ: whats your take on them ?

    That is a good idea. I had been thinking of using them to "make" floating jig heads.
