Presque Isle Bay in October?

Hello all…I'm new to the board and in general fishing Erie. I plan to make a trip to fish Erie Oct 9th and 10th and was wondering if anyone fishes in Presque Isle Bay at this time of year? We mainly fish for bass and walleye. Any tips?

    Sky,

The 'eyes are bout done for the season, and they are not usually in the bay either.  There are good numbers of Largemouth to be found in the head as well as Misery bay.  You may also find some steel head to keep you busy.

the bay always has an amazing variety. From bass to Steelhead. fall can be a great time because the fish tend to hit easier because they are trying to put on fat for the winter.

Watch out for duck hunters in blinds on the shore and in the water. small boat that look like a log or rock in the distance may have a hunter laying down inside. Some don't look before they shoot as they pop up for a duck. I'm am speaking from 1 experience last year- shot landed about 20' in front of my boat as I was trolling past the innermost marina. Wish I was a police officer at that moment.

While I apreciae what your sayin'......and it's always good advice to "watch out" for hunters

If you/"they" shoot "at" me....as a duck.....goose...a bird of any sorts...."the" offender will lose everything in their possession. If "they" rain on me while I'm fishin'...I'm ok with that.

For the record.....I've fished around alot of duckhunters....been rained on...never "shot at", or anywhere close.
