anything remotely significant will blow it out because it's still up from the last two days of rain although its down about 300cfs from yesterday

The short answer is yes I saw man sized logs float through on sunday and it's still raining, the long answer is...... if you want to find out the latest conditions on any of the streams there are a bunch of places that you can go to and get the answer yourself. Look at the webcam on the uncle johns site, look at reports here, and on the Poor richards site, and lastly, just call poor richards they will give you the skinny right down to what they have been slaying them on.

Finding the info on your own will get you a long way on this site, if you ask to be straight up spoon fed the info (though not a crime) it is not usually met with kind words on here . I don't blame you for asking but they also don't care how far of a trip your making..... lots of great info on here and even better people but you do have to wade through some BS. Sorry if my tone sounds like an a-hole, I am just trying to help you.

With the good weather forecasted for the weekend, water levels should rise to acceptable fishable depths just form the amount of anglers that will be standing in the water.

Definitely.  Add in the One Fly and Stiller's bye week...  If records were kept, I wouldn't doubt this is the busiest second weekend in October ever.  Conditions should be rather favorable, with fish getting a chance to move right now, which will likely add a few hundred more anglers...

I stopped at Elk on my way to a get together of a few buddies in Harbor Creek.  There was maybe a 3:1 angler to fish ratio, up stream a bit.  I hiked about a mile, and not many fish holding anywhere.  Got some exploring in, and landed about 20 chubs...  I'd keep expectations at a minimum for a few weeks, unless you are a brave enough soul to fish between Rt. 5 and the lake.

Do people know that lake temp is only one of the small factors that triggers the mutts to run?

Slammin, Welcome to the boards! jac1317 WAS trying to help. He just knows that if you ask a question about conditions or similar stuff, You WILL get hammered by alot of these guy's. Instead of them just ignoring something they don't want to respond to, they still respond telling you that they don't want to respond "look it up"

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!

there's also good advice in the post (by Jah).  You are seen by what you post.  A friendly and informed question should generate more pm's, at the very least.

This ALSO happens to be one of three infamous (and frequently asked) posts
    * How far upstream are the fish ?
    * Will the Streams be in good shape by ..?
    * where should I go to catch steelhead without alot of fishing pressure...?

all of them are hard to answer because they are subjective, And they could greatly influence the massive crowds of anglers that combs this forum for clues on where and when to go.

Welcome to the forum.  There's also an faq thread here, very helpful stuff...

remember if your going to get a jump on all the lurkers whom might "borrow" your posts answers, you've got to read between the lines

Judging by where the guage sits currently and the 80% of forecasted rain tonight through tomorrow, I'd head mup later this week. Just sayin'
