Any special knot needed for floro tippet ??
I now use a surgeons knot for tying mono tippet...

Gamma was my go to line. I was pretty upset when I found out I couldnt by it anymore. Now I'll be trying a bunch of new line this year and niether one of them will be seagaur or berkley. I've used them both and I'm not a fan.

Wow Thanks for all the input. It's been educational. I will be using a 10 ft rod with ultra light spin reel. What about a 6# main mono and a 6# flouro leader? If the conditions are low and clear i will have the fluoro leader and if the warter is a bit stained i can go with straight mono. Thanks Eberyone.

Thats all you need .... On my spinning set ups I use an 8lb mono baseline with a 6-8 lb floro leader depending on conditions  . I do not enjoy losing $5.00 lures and with the size of Erie tribs you do not need to cast that far eliminating the need for smaller diameter mono base line . The 6lb florocarbon will catch fish in the lowest & clearest conditions . The lower it is the longer leader you will need . Tight lines <>< <>< <><

Palomar knot works for me ... most importantly wet the line prior to cinching the knot ... Floro abraises easily and the cinching can weaken the line above your knot if not lubricated and not tightened delicately .

I almost always use the palomar knot....tie the flouro to the swivel that way bings.

Also, keep in mind, when using a little heavier mainline; it allows you a broader/larger range of leader sizes you can run according to the conditions. If you're only running 6# mainline you're pretty much limited to 5# or under tippet material. I often times like to run up to 8# leader in higher muddy conditions. I like to horse those fish right to the bank!

Bings is a water whipper LOL ..... I do not believe he would ever use a spinning rod or a snagging pin  for chromers .... The spinning advice was for troutman ...... Thanks for the 1fly firewood .... your the man Bings
