mouth of elk creek

Hello everyone. I was looking for directions on how to get down to the mouth of elk creek. I live in erie so this is how I was going to attempt to NOT get lost...

West on RT. 5 towards fairview. Then when I come to a Y in the road, where Elk Creek Sport Store is in the middle of the Y, continue on RT. 5 until I see a sign (?) for Elk Creek Access. (Not sure where this "sign" is located). Here are my questions:

To get to the Mouth of elk creek, should I continue on RT. 5 until I see a sign stating Elk Creek Access OR should I instead turn right at the Y intersection to get on Old Lake Rd.? I am looking at a google map image and it shows Old Lake Rd. splitting also into another Y intersection and turning into Elk Creek Rd. Which way at that 'Y' intersection would get me to the mouth of Elk? Is there parking located down near the mouth or do you have to walk great distance? Only reason I ask is I may take an elder with me. Thanks a bunch.

Your directions are right on the money, there is a tiny sign for Elk Creek Access at the top of the hill on Rt 5. Make a right. It will take you right there. There is a pretty good sized parking lot, and a rock wall to fish off of if you are taking elderly with you. Set up is very similar to Walnut. Good Luck.
