Barry, really like Steve's scandi head. Fished it with a 10' 5.2 ips zinc tip, nice. Water was a little off, ft of visibility. Casting ok but needs a lot of work.
Polishfisherman, The black rabbit strip is a simple fly, tied on frodin small combined with x small tubing. Rabbit strip, silver krystal flash, schlappen collar, small or medium standard orange cone, spirit river. Size 6 Daiichi 1650 egg/tube hook. Easy to tie. If you don't want to mess with tubing, tie it on a 3xl streamer hook. Size 6 is about right. Fly is no secret. Uglier than sin but a "player" especially in high, off color water.
Dano, See you at Folly's Oct. 9. We'd be up $hit creek, especially Glen, without that ugly black strip fly.

Great Pic's, man I'm jealous! I guess I should've made the long drive up after all. I wasn't sure if there would be enough vis to warrant a 3 hr drive. A couple of questions: Did you guys have much luck swinging streamers(judging from the pic's, I'd guess: yes)? Did you encounter any "unrest" in the area? I just got my new stick(I got it especially for that area), and I can't wait to use it! Tight lines.

No unrest at all. Got cigs and gas and everyone was accomomdating and friendly. We gave up the numbers of fish to get one now and then swinging. Mostly I'm using tube flys tied by Bob or some of Barry's {"Swinger"}spey flys that he gave me. I'm new at the casting but learning. Swinger was an inspiration to watch last fall. When he comes back I'm going to make a video and put it on here. I switched to my new 10' outfit and fished indicators for a while. I hooked and lost a good fish on an egg fly.

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to see that video! I just picked up a new 2-hander especially for that river; I can't wait to try it. I am a little bit worried about the tax vote that's coming up, though. It may be the excuse I needed to exlore some new areas...I always seem to gravitate to the familiar water. Hopefully I'll run into you guys on the water one of these days. Take care.

I hopes it spikes again before then cause today was real slow. We had good water but a real lack of fish. Kevin came for a day and we met up and fished together this afternoon. He had a grab which was the highlight of the day. Still nice to have some open water and make new friends. Angie wants more than a one night fling.
