Good story Mika.
Been watching a growing flock over the past 2 weeks, roosting on the lake just 1/4 mile up the road from my house on. Strictly no hunting.
I have a buddy who has 30 acres with some hay fields and farm ponds 1/2 mile due south of the roost. Usually get at least a few small flocks to call to there. One of those little out of the way places that they'll hit with not much ryme or reason.
This morning, a group of hunters was set up in a fresh cut corn field between the roost and me. They were shooting pretty steady from 8:45 to 10 at several different smaller flocks coming off the roost. Every single bird they shot at turned and went back north, instead of continuing south past me
