I hope the greedy fishermen who ratted out the comm. worker are happy!
The fish comm man was opening the mouth of Trout Run with a backhoe, something they must regularly do during the season after storms and winds from the North close it. If they don't take that action, fresh fish can't get into TR. Greater than 95% of all Steelhead brood is captured in TR. Think about that... 95%, with no practical alternative!!! Because of what these fishermen have done, the fish comm may not be allowed to ever clear the mouth again! All because a few fisherman were inconvenienced. I hope they are happy they opened their big mouths, because two years from now, they may not have any SH to fish for!!!

They reported the fish comm man to the wardens who had to take some sort of action. I even heard the fc man might get arrested.

ummm, you mean the same "wardens" who work for the same agency that the fish commission man works for? That would be the Fish Commission. Never heard of an on-duty fish commission employee getting arrested by another on-duty fish commission employee, though I suppose stranger things have happened at Trout Run.

sounds to me you smoke the peace pipe to much . i know what your trying to say . but the others side don't. this is going to be a bad year for steel ; no rain or maybe i can be wroung if we get rain and hell water the fish we be there all the way up .see you guys in that the end of nov or dec .[ dream on]

You don't know what you are talking about! I have a home on TR and the fish can clear the bar the way it was but even when there are decent rains way more will come in when it's open. All the man did was push some sand out of the way like they always do. He didn't mess anything up!

I smell someting fishy here. I was up last weekend and didnt see any sign of them changing the mouth. I know my old man has been up all week to and he didnt say anything either. All it will take is a good rain and the mouth of TR will get blown out again like it always does.

Katty is right, it was dug out to shoot straight into the lake along the wall. It wont last, next time the lake kicks up it will be back to normal.

Thank you, that is exactly what happened! Why would I have made a story like that up? We were upset that fisherman would try to get the people, who are providing them with their fishery, in trouble. It happened mid-last week and my husband and friends said TR went from several hundred fish to well over 1000 After clearing about 20 ft. As a follow up, they (the hatchery guys) were able to produce their valid permit to do this. My husband warned me that this forum has greatly changed over the past several years with a whole lot of imature and uninformed posters. He was most correct!
