This rain will probably bring a few more fish in, but I don't think it's nearly enough to move em' further than where they're at now. Looks like another week/weekend of wall-to-wall madness.

I'd take full advantage of this weeks trout stockings.

It rained last night, but the weather forecast for the rest of the week is dry and warm.  Temperatures will be in the 80's by the weekend.

What's that web site you posted one time for Erie weather?  It was from an Erie tv station or something like that.

    Panfisher,

The link http://yourerie.com/  If you click on the weather map, it will take you the doppler map and the local forecast.  The weather is provided by WJET TV.  Their map and forecasts are usually pretty accurate.

It's supposed to get pretty close to 90 degrees here in southern Mercer County on Friday. I imagine it won't be too much different one hour north, either...

    What's the date again?

Yep, another weekend of steelhead molestation.

    Thanks Bug
Is this the same one that had "WJETTV" in the web address?

Thanks for that site, Bug. The Yough River boys continue to beat the rain drums.

Panfisher, I believe it is.  For some reason WJET TV has decided to link to this site.  As far as I know, it is the same basic weather info.

This morning I was at Walnut around 7:00 and it was already in the 60's.  When I left around 10:00, it was 71.  We may get a shower today, but nothing substantial is on the horizon.  It is supposed to be in the 80's for the weekend.... Soooooo... if you are coming up you won't need the long johns or neoprene waders....  Breathables and a nice tee shirt and maybe some sunscreen....

The conditions continue to be low and gin clear.  Small orange and light pink glo bugs along with a black flashback pheasant tail produced, but I had several hits on a #8 Black woolly bugger and talked with a fellow who was having very good luck with woolly buggers.

Good luck to all who can make it up.  May your reels be screaming soon....

Bug, that is interesting that you noted the black FBPT.  I just tied up a bunch of them to use in NY and they came out really nice.  Should be a great trout fly too.  What material do you like to use for the FB?

    TB,

I don't have the material in front of me at the moment, but it is wide tinsel like material with a greenish tint.  I have used Christmas tinsel in the past and it worked well also.  The flies I tied up were #14, black pheasant tails with orange dyed Peacock hurl.  Some I added a couple of turns of black hen hackle, others I left off the hackle.  Friday I had a fish actually swallow one of the flies.  When I landed her, I could see the tippet coming out of her mouth and when I traced it down, it went right down her throat and I could not see the fly.  Needless to say, she went home with me.
