Walnut Access ? what to use?

Was hoping to get some help about catching steelies at Walnut Creek Access. I never fished for them but heard it is a great time. What do people use to catch them and are Spoons recommended at the mouths or something else? What brands, color, and size spoons are best for steelhead? Also, what kind of bait should I use when they get up stream a little? Thank you for all your help and best of luck this year.

Ok, I'll bite........Welcome to the board newbe1!  Read this link , then fire away and ask as many questions as you wish.  I'm sure there are many lurkers sitting back trying to be better educated.  Everybody had to start sometime somewhere.  Enjoy.

Single eggs on a #14 circle hook
Skein or egg sacks with a #14 gold trebble hook.
Minnows -live or dead on a #10 red circle hook.
    Little Cleos -small blue/silver
Black Mini Foo with a maggot
Power Bait -Pink, Lime, Orange or Rainbow Sherbert on a #14 trebble hook
All with at least a 18" florocarbon leader
Only use trebble hooks if you plan on keeping the fish.
If water is clear use 4lb mono or a florocarbon 4 or 6lb leader.
    Stained water 6 or 8lb

    In regards to Tippy's post...

It is not my fault you cannot catch fish! You just need to keep getting spoon fed by your mamma!!! LOL Thanks everyone, except the dork Tippy who actually took the time posting the done****picture, for all the tips. Best of luck this season.
