    kinzukid,
Hating to sound trite but what pafisher said is very true.  Just make sure you are on public land and not somebody's farm.  There are sooo many fish in the creeks up there.  Oh, and make sure you have a license.  Watch out for bears.  You will cross some big water but the best suprises are usually the small streams.  I  know this isn't much help but You're talking about covering a LOT of territory.

Read the regulations very carefully, each stream and stream section has different rules. bait, no bait, single hooks only, flies only, no salmon fishing, etc.

Buy a publication called The Milepost...it details mile for mile what is on each road leading to the border and discusses all rivers, streams and lakes that you will cross.  It is an absolute necessity, you should be able to find it in the travel section of any of the major book retailers.  Don't forget to stop at Laird Hotsprings in N. British Colombia and take a dip in the natural springs.

Did the alcan a couple years ago, it was a blast. Anchorage to Pittsburgh dress warm and stop and fill up your gas tank any time it gets BELOW 1/2 tank. When I was up their it was $5 a Liter, YES liter. it was still fun. When you get gas use your credit card you get a better price that way. Gas cost us $1,200 from Anchorage to Pittsburgh. When we retire 2 years from now were going driving up for 4 monthes and stay the summer. Have fun .............. Flatfish
