I'll take them !!  like the melon especially. Always did good w/melon anything. The unusual hammered look is nice.  Dave

Does anyone use the quick change clevis so the blade colors could be interchanged? It seems like it might save some room instead of carrying so many different harnesses.

These are the harnesses I like to use....I make 'em too  CB....where do you get your blades?  I like the patterns...do you custom paint or purchase?  Nice harnesses by the way.

I use 30 lb. Stren High Impact or 30 lb. Cajun Red.  Been thinking about tying some with 7 strand coated steel braid also, but these are much more cost effective and seem to work real well thus far.

    Custom Painted....

Blades are stamped out special order...

I make my harnesses on one long 6ft leader direct attach to dipsy (leaves less knots to fail)

Im tying on 40lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid.  Dont use steel its a waste.  Mono allows your rig to almost swim in the water.

Your hooks are too small!!! What size are those?  Ive been tying with 2/0 Gamakatsu and VMC for the past 4 years...they work well...

Those are #2 Mustad sproat hooks...haven't had any trouble with them.  I think they actually look smaller in the photo, but I don't think I'd want to go much bigger.  The stinger on the end is a #8 mustad roundbend and it does definitely help catch more fish.  I hook one of the barbed points into the crawler or a Gulp crawler.  The Gulp worms have produced every bit as many fish this year than the real thing, but some days they out produce eachother so I'm always equipped with both.

    Mika,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by fresh, but I simply keep them in the original package.  After I use them, and they are still in good contition, I'll simply put them back in the package.  I keep them in a compartment in my boat during the season.  At season's end, I'll store them in the fridge.  They seem to stay pretty fresh this way.  If you do leave them out of the package for some period of time however, they dry up as hard as a rock.

The colors I found to be most productive this year have been natural, chartruese, purple, watermelon and black in that order.

Watermelon harnesses and spoons were among the top producers for us this year CB, but the teamed with a natural Gulp worm.  the watermelon Gulp worm looks nothing like a watermelon if you ask me....its green with black flakes.  Overall, I'd have to agree that watermelon has been hot on Erie.  Some other colors that have done great are Orange Crush and Classic Red and Balck with silver blades.  Kevorkian (purple/pink with copper blades) has been coming on strong as of late.  Any other colors you've been doing well on this year??

You're right CB watermelon should never be 2nd. Always have 1 out. Lately done good on hammered copper willow leaf too. Try not to switch too much. Can't catch fish when you're out of the water.   Dave
