Erie Smallie Question

I have been trying to fish for Smallmouth in the lake a little bit and was wondering where would be a good place to start. I have a 14ft alumiinum boat  w/9.9 and can get out on calm days. Its hard for me to try to locate structure because i only have a small/old depth finder. I know alot of people dont want to give exact spots but any help with places to start looking would be great! THx guys

    E-sox,
I will pick up a few small mouths drift fishing for eyes on the clay banks west of walnut (about 1 mile west).
Just got back from the lake at trout run. The waves are about 6" if that.

Fish the edge of the ship channel and the turning basin in Presque Isle.  I also like the 20 foot contour in front of Dobbins Landing.  Early spring Misery Bay can be hot. Also fish around the cribs in front of Hammermill.  These spots are all good for smallies and safer for you with your small boat.  ( I fish all these regularly and I have a bigger boat)

Have been getting them out of Elk Creek in 10 to 15 ft off the creek mouth.
