Smallies!

I took a day trip yesterday to find smallies.......and we sure did find some!  Here's some highlight pics from the day.

Matt with a fat 17"er before dawn.

Not a smallie, but still fun.

Best smallie of the day:  21.5" - 6#3oz.

Another large cat.  This one was 9#6oz.

Matt with another typical smallie.

We caught fish all day long.  Most being in the 3#-4# range with a few 5#ers here and there.  ALL fish were caught dropshotting various baits in 23'-32'.

And so many think cats are not predacious. I have caught many on soft plastics and even a few on spinnerbaits. Fun fish.

LMAO!!!!!!! MBecker i can tell youre joking, however,
that is almost verbatim to what a person with localknowledge posted a few weeks ago. he posted: "if your coming to erie just for smallmouth its not really worth it this time of year. stay in the bay and fish for largemouths. you may even hook into a big smallmouth."

i have not fished all over the world, however, i would have a hard time believing that there is a better smallmouth fishery in the world than lake erie.

They are there......just REALLY pressured.  You gotta show them something different......like chicken wings in special sauce!
