Weather.com's 10 day forecast for Erie is interesting as well. Not that they are ever right, but I sure hope the forecast they are showing now is. 85 on Sunday, but then after that high's are only in the 70's for the rest of those 10 days.

I have come to the conclusion that NOAA could not predict the weather if God came down and handed it to them.  And to top it all off they have been trying to use a shotgun aproach this year.  I saw one forecast that called for 10-20 knot winds and waves <2'??????????  And then got out there and it was more like 3-5's.  YEEEE HAW, that's fun in a 16' boat.

I 've gotten caught up in the same thing a few times this year and my boat is 16' also. Makes for a bumpy ride.

I've always told my children when they grow up go to college for weather forcasting and sit back and enjoy the free ride. Can't see how they can live with the misinformation they're predicting. What's worse is when you're sitting on a lake that looks like a table top and they're reporting 2-4's as the current forcast. Sometimes you gotta wonder what planet they're on.  Dave

Snug Harbor B&T / Conneaut Ohio usually has a decent current AM lake condition reports on their answer machine.  Their lake condition reports (sometimes) are  from the minnow boat(s) that are already on the water early AM /before daybreak.

I don't blame the weatherman. Nature is nature, what can you do. That being said, I would love a job where I could be wrong 50% of the time and get away with it

I don't know, I didn't want to be on my 16' boat and find out.

It's a long way from Maumee Bay to Ripley, NY with probably all kinds of conditions forecasted occuring somewhere out there.

I go to WeatherUnderground and scroll down to the Personal Weather Stations at the bottom. The topmost one is closest to my home and gives me the wind conditions every five minutes from midnight. It'd be nice to have weather stations reporting from the Walnut Creek area and PI Lighthouse too.

Lastly, I've got a VHF and 12v PowerPack set up with an antenna in the yard and can just ask for a wave report. If you're high enough it's no problem.

Intellicast is the site for looping radar images that I use. It's good.
