yrs back a buddy of mine found a young red tailed hawk with a injured wing, he took it home, had a vet fix it up ,kept bird for almost 6 months, nursing it back to health, then game officer came in november ,told him had to release it or pay hefty fine, well he let it go,took it 5 miles from his cottage he lived in, the following spring he heard a pecking on his window screen and looked out ,and it was that hawk, he put some raw hamburg out,it ate then left, this bird came back almost daily for several yrs, then just never seen again

That was an amazing video.  Humans and animals are most definitely capable of developing life long relationships.  If you have ever had a beloved pet, you know how wonderful it is to reconnect with them after a time away.

hearwarming story. But dont ya think if he was the head of a pride, he would be bigger than a young lion. He is not even full grown . It looks to be a few months after they let him go, not years. Good "story" though.

Depending on the size of the pride, size of the other males in the pride, aggressiveness of this lion towards others in the pride.

A pride can consist of 3-to 25+ lions. Could have been him, his mate, and a child. If you watched the video, you'd see they got him in 1969. Quickly he got too big to live with them and play in the church. So they let him go in Africa. Now give or take a year or two I don't know the average lions growth rate. And the fact that most lions that are head of a pride for and average maximum of 2 years. It's VERY possible he was the head of the pride. If you look to the left of the video you'll see he left the Reserve he was on and most likely the pride he led in 1973. 4 years. 2 years or so with the people, and 2 with the pride.

Guess it is a pretty good "story".

Bug I agree, there's nothing like the bond between humans and animals.

Yep, when I go away for any time, when I get home my cats greet me at the door and immediately lead me to the food dish, ignoring the dry food and insted standing on their back legs and mewing at the canned  cat food on the shelf.   The easiest way to call a cat is to turn on the can opener!
