not to stir things up, but he is typical of pro athletes anymore.  it is not about money as it is about attention.  so many cry when they retire, only to return again and maybe again.  once the spotlight is off of them, a bunch seem to get into trouble.  we treat them as though they are demi-gods and pay them money and homage, but in the end they are knuckleheads like us.  (i used to attend 25-30 baseball games a year, now i boycott all pro sports because i am a mulehead.  i would have played baseball for minimum wage and not asked to be traded).  i was on my way up to cleveland to see a game once and saw a homeless guy standing on an exit ramp.  not long after, players (millionaires) when on strike against the owners (millionaires).  after that, i swore they would never get another penny of mine.  as said, i am a mulehead.

makes no sense to me what brett is doing.  if he wanted to still be connected, work with the kids, or be a qb coach on the h.s. or college level.  he could share his gifts.

hey rap, offer that homrless guy a job and see if he takes it,,, i dont honor no sport which millions are involved, nascar pay is based on performance thru winnings, not contractual agreements without producing, yes they make millions ,but mostly thru endorsements, if they have a bad yr,their earnings reflect that highly, that is the drive to do their best,

haha he's done for. Said he feels 38 and his arm is "fatigued" We'll see, he's set to start the Jets next pre-season game.

He should have stayed retired. He lost all respect. I hope he busts.

rock, a lot of the homeless from the 70s until recently were viet nam vets.  many were incapable of working.  he wasn't begging or holding a sign.  he was plain-out poor and homeless.  carried his few belongings.  may have been so low that he no longer cared.

give the man credit for staying in the game, many leave the game over a few aches and pains, lets just watch him perform,

Green Bay made a major mistake letting him go. He has done
so much for that team over the years. He should of just
reported to camp and he would have beat out Rodgers
by opening day. The guy is a gamer.

The Jets will be a much improved team. They will go from 4-12 to 5-11.

All I think of Farve now is him crying like a little baby(understandably) on ESPN announcing his retirement. If he would have left it at that I would have had alot more respect for him than I do now. I'm sure he'll be rammed down out throats some more this season.

But who knows... he could come out and shock us all. The Jets will still suck though

When he throw for 300 yds and 4 interceptions, In Green Bay, thats
just Brett being Brett. When he does that in New York, the media will
rip him apart.

Brett must not listen to Kenny Rogers.----It was time for him to fold em and walk away. Now we will be forced to watch the meltdown of what was a fun player to watch.

If the guy wants to play and a team is willing to take him (as many were) who are we to decide if he should play?  He has all the money in the world, he came back cause he loves to play. That seems like the best reason there is.

He still has an arm and a brain, which is what the jets were lacking.

Who cares, I'm so tired of hearing about him. All I know is he can throw a football across a lake.

I feel it was as much Bretts fault as it was the Pack. But i really think when a guy loves the game the way he does to come back after 17 seasons with one team only to go to another it shows how much he loves the game. But the problem is if he would have never announced his retirement would GB have eventually pushed him out the door or is that what really happened? He is arguably one of the greatest Qb's to ever play the game, led the Pack to a 13-3 season last year, had one of his best years ever, I say give him another chance.
